About six weeks ago, we drove from Brisbane to the Brisbane Valley Cat Rescue. There we met Louise and during thenext few hours we did our best to meet her 80or so cats. It took me quite a while to meet each individual one and decide who was to become part of my family. I was drawn to severaland then my eyes met a lovely white and ginger short hair domestic cat about 9 months old.. The most beautiful cat I have ever seen, but then again I might be biased. There was something special about this parlticular cat. Candyman was for our family. It took us 3 hours before Candyman was to come out of his cat box and see his new home. I was waiting for a bad tempered cat, tired of being cooped up to explode from his cat box. Candyman just lay there and was purring. Everyone was so excited to meet him. The next morning, it was as if he had been here for ever. He fitted in immediately. He is now boss of the house and has my daughter as his personal staff. We have now changed his name to Oscar. Everyone comments on him. I tell the world he was just arrived from Brisbane Valley Cat Rescue.

If anyone has any thoughts of adopting a cat or kitten, I recommend that they go to see Louise. The cats are very much loved. They are well looked after and their surroundings are clean and well maintained. .

Thank you Louise.

That is wonderful to hear Narelle. Candyman (Oscar) isa beautiful little cat. He had a hard time in the beginning before he came out to Louise's, but with the help of Lou and the other cats his true nature didn't take long to come shining through. I love going out to Lou's, having a coffee(when we're not cleaning out pens) and just watching all the little furballs going about their business. They are all contented, healthy and well adjusted animals. I want to come back as a permanent resident at BVCR! :)

Hi Narelle,  It's so good to hear that another beautiful BVCR cat has found a loving family and home.  Louise certainly does give these cats the best of everything while they live at the shelter waiting for their forever homes.  All the best with Oscar.  He sounds like a happy cat.

Thank you so much for posting this great story. It is always great to hear how the cats and kittens have settled into their forever homes. Candyman (Oscar) was such a friendly little man and I am sure you will have many happy years together.:)
