Well the last week has been interesting. The cats are not impressed with all the wet weather but have been getting lots of goodies to make the boredom more bearable.

The bedding washing is completely out of control but I'll sort that out when I can. LOL

The driveway has been turned into the grand canyon in places and I have no idea how I'm going to repair it.  I'll have a crack at carting pebbles and gravel down in buckets once the rain stops and see if I can compact it enough by running over it in the car.  In the meantime, what has always been the best time of the year for adopting out the older cats, while people are on holidays, has turned into a fizzer this year unfortunately, leaving the shelter with no income over this holiday season and very few adoptions.  It's not really the financial consequences that bother me, it's the fact that the older cats may have missed their best chance this year and that I find most disheartening.

A big thank you to Ted for managing to get Kate's car out of the bog yesterday.

The driveway is extremely boggy and isn't likely to improve until the rain stops altogether. If anyone wants to visit the shelter you still can but I'll temporarilly chauffeur you up from the gateway because I don't want people risking their vehicles sliding into a tree or something. Better if I do it :/

The exterior fence that was started on Tuesday hasn't gotten any further because of the wet conditions and I'm starting to wonder if the concrete slab for the new catteries will ever be able to be put down the way this season is progressing.  Oh well all good things come in time :)

The Lockyer Valley certainly got hit hard with I think it's 11 of their 14 shire bridges washed away. I may float down my driveway but at least it's still there.

I hope you're all safe and well and haven't had storm or flood damage.  Will add more to this post later in the day.

It's disappointing alright that adoptions are down, and I suppose the weather has not helped.  At least the cats have a good place to be while they continue to wait for their new families.  Hope everyone is well.

Yes I agree Leanne. Let us hope that the year makes up for it in adoptions. I hope things dry out soon Louise.
